| President’s Message, continued
This 2000-2001 Board is very energetic and promises a productive and active year. Please contact me or other members of the Board with your ideas, questions, comments, and concerns. We need and want to hear from all of you so that as we close out the year next June 30th, we will be able to say that our efforts resulted in positive changes for the good of our membership. What is good for our membership is good for the Association. Have a wonderful fall season. Barb brn@sphosp.com.
NEWS
ON THE WEBSITE: The old website has been closed and a
new site is in the process of being opened. There has been a delay, but due to
Royce’s hard work we have been able to finally make a change in host
servers. We will be back
on-line very soon.
We are still looking for suggestions on what to include on the
site. Some ideas so far: The membership list (will be voted
on by membership at annual meeting), bylaws, links to other sites, a
calendar of events, the newsletter.
Please e-mail suggestions to: ROUNDTABLE COORDINATOR |
SOCIETY
FOR CLINICAL CODING: Purpose The Society for Clinical Coding(SCC)
State Coding Roundtables are a forum for grassroots coders to come
together to learn, share, and network on issues related to coding and data
quality. The Roundtables
serve as a forum for coders to address problematic, and/or unresolved
coding issues within their state and have the opportunity to submit these
issues to the SCC Data Quality committee. Process Coders
from all states are encouraged to become involved in Coding Roundtables
activities. SCC Coding
Roundtables may meet quarterly or monthly, communicate by telephone, mail,
or via the Internet. There
are no standard protocols for SCC Coding Roundtable format or start-up
format. The
SCC Coding Roundtable for each state will be lead by a SCC Coding
Roundtable Coordinator who will be appointed by the SCA President and the
SCC Board of Directors.
Regional Coding Roundtable Coordinators may be appointed but there
should be coordination and communication with the state Coding Roundtable
Coordinator. BenefitsA State Coding Roundtable gives coders the ability to
|
network
with their peers to discuss common coding issues. The
state Coding Roundtables are the SCC's vehicle to disseminate educa-tional
and coding related information to grassroots coders nationwide. If
you would like to take advantage of a wonderful
volun-teer
opportunity for outreach in the Coding arena, this is your best
chance. Contact any Board
member and let them know of your interest.
