AKHIMA Official Call to Meeting and President’s Message

Hello Everyone!

Wow, what a year 2021 has been! It has been overwhelming for HIM professionals, but we always overcome obstacles that are in our path.

Over the last year and a half, some have transitioned from onsite locations to working remotely, which comes with its challenges and benefits. We maintain a seat at the table to engage in some of the most relevant healthcare discussions, advocate for legislative and regulatory changes, and collaborate on technological advancements that make health information processes more efficient and effective. There are a lot of intricacies in being a health information professional, and never a dull day when you do what you do regardless of your role or position.

The same is true of the Board, we have had challenges but we continue to move forward to meet the needs of the members because that is what we do as HIM Professionals.

We are actively seeking candidates for the 2022/2023 Board year, so please consider submitting your nomination to serve.

Additionally please mark your calendars for this year’s annual spring conference. We are again offering the virtual on-demand sessions beginning April 13th, and registration opening on April 3rd. We will have a live Panel Event on April 13th, Topic: HIM Career Overview, stay tuned for registration.
